Dotrade visited the annual Korea International Medical & Hospital Equipment Show (KIMES) in Seoul’s popular COEX convention center like every year. KIMES provides the opportunity to explore the great potential of the future medical industry as well as the latest industry trends. Up to 1,200 domestic and overseas manufacturers show new technology and products.
Even in times of COVID-19, the fair was huge and very well visited. Some observable trends include the huge popularity of massage devices for private and professional use and of course the increased demand of Personal Protective Equipment and other goods related to the pandemic. Korean manufacturers have come up with innovative mobile negative pressure chambers that can be used to isolate patients suffering from contagious disease. Dotrade is currently partnering with one manufacturer developing a tent-like negative pressure unit which will be launched globally soon! Another important industry trend is the huge global demand for Nitrile and Latex gloves which triggered unparalleled price hikes in the past months. We expect the demand to remain at high levels into 2022 and beyond, a view that is shared by industry experts we talked to!
We enjoyed our day at KIMES as always, were happy to get a first look at newly developed products and had a good time networking. We are looking forward to next year!
